Cryotherapy

Cryotherapy is an effective treatment for firming and tightening the skin with visible results. It can also be used to manage psoriasis.

Cryotherapy, which literally means ‘cold therapy’, is a non-surgical treatment that utilises cold to treat various skin and body concerns, including fat loss, pain relief, rehabilitation, skin tags / warts removal, eczema and psoriasis.

Depending on areas of concern and the device used, the treatment time of cryotherapy can vary from 5 minutes to 1 hour. At WPR Beauty, we offer targeted cryotherapy for a range of treatments.

Cryotherapy for Body Sculpting and Fat Reduction

There are two main methods when it comes to cryotherapy for body sculpting and permanent fat reduction.

One is called cryolipolysis. This is the mechanism of the traditional ‘Fat Freezing’ treatment. It usually involves a device with suction cups. When applied for a period of time, the fat cells will start a process of breaking down. The body’s lymphatic system will then eliminate the broken down fat cells naturally. You will usually start to see the results a few months after treatment.

The other method is using a hand-held device (KaasenLife) that spray CO2 at -78C, to cool the targeted area down to 4C rapidly. This caused a ‘Thermal Shock’. This will create a firming and tightening effect of the targeted area, which is instantly visible. Unlike other cryo devices using suction cups, there won’t be any bruising with Kaasenlife. It is quicker and you can get an instant result. With this treatment, we recommend 5 x 15 mins appointment to maximise the results.

Cryotherapy for Massage & Pain Relief

Cryotherapy is very effective in treating pain relief including all inflammatory conditions and sports injury. It can also be combined with a massage treatment. As a result, muscles are loosened and easier to manipulate.

Cryotherapy for Skin Tag, Warts, Age Spots Removal

Cryotherapy can also be used to freeze and destroy benign skin lesions safely and effectively.

This method of freezing skin tags causes a mild stinging sensation and multiple skin tags can be treated by this technique. No dressings need to be applied after the procedure and the frozen skin tag should be shed in approximately 7 to 10 days. This technique is especially useful for those small tags that hang on the eyelids and when the medical practitioner is treating your eyelids, you are able to lie down as there is no fear of any dripping of the liquid on other areas.

Cryotherapy for Psoriasis & Eczema

If you are suffer from skin conditions such as psoriasis and eczema, give Cryotherapy a try. This targeted cold therapy will help calm inflammation and reduce the signs and symptoms of skin conditions
